greb.gp goes green | bürgerwindrad – ein weiterer schritt richtung green office

since mid-november 2025, the community wind turbine in sommerhausen, in which we are a stakeholder, has been reliably generating electricity. for us, this marks an important milestone on our journey towards greater sustainability and a future-proof energy supply. on paper, the electricity generated already covers our own annual energy demand.

although the electricity produced cannot currently be used directly within our company due to existing regulatory and political frameworks, our involvement clearly demonstrates our commitment to renewable energy and to actively contributing to a more sustainable future.

our investment in the sommerhausen community wind turbine is a key part of our sustainability strategy and another important step towards our vision of a truly holistic green office. alongside this initiative, we consistently implement environmentally responsible solutions throughout our daily operations, including the use of an electric vehicle, refurbished hardware and devices, and continuous improvements to the indoor climate and energy efficiency of our office spaces.

we are convinced that the energy transition can only succeed through the combined impact of many individual measures. alongside technological innovation, regional initiatives and community engagement play an equally important role.

the sommerhausen community wind turbine is an excellent example of how sustainable energy generation can succeed at a local level. it demonstrates the potential of community-led projects and shows how companies can actively take responsibility—for the environment, for the region, and for future generations.
