the creative.team at the Bauhaus - excursion with an architectural focus

a day among the bauhaus greats – the creative.team trip

last october, our creative.team swapped the office for a day of architectural history, travelling to dessau and weimar to explore the roots of modern design.

a guided tour took us through the iconic bauhaus building, the masters' houses, and the dessau-törten housing estate. the bauhaus building itself is a masterclass in clear, functional design—an embodiment of everything the movement stood for. the neighbouring masters' houses tell another part of the story, showing how modern living was imagined nearly a century ago through innovative construction methods, new technical standards, and a bold design vision. the dessau-törten estate completed the picture, created as an early model for affordable housing and a reminder of the strong social ideals that shaped the bauhaus movement.

from there, the creative.team travelled on to weimar and the bauhaus museum, experiencing the same ideas from a different perspective. the exhibition traced the movement back to its beginnings, exploring its founders, its vision, and its development, while connecting everything we had seen in dessau to where the story first began.

beyond the architectural history, the day gave our team plenty of opportunitites to exchange ideas, ask questions, and look at familiar topics from new perspectives.

there is much about the Bauhaus movement that still resonates with us today, especially in relation to healing.architecture. its clear design language, its uncompromising focus on function, and the way space, light, and purpose are brought together remain as relevant as ever. if anything, these principles reinforce our understanding of how thoughtfully designed environments can shape the way people experience and interact with a space.
